To support 2016 & older iMacs, please use with ourType-A to Type-C Adapter(sold separately).USB-A data ports do not support CD readers, including Apple SuperDrive, due to their power requirements.
Does the USB-C port supports charging iPads?
Unfortunately not. This hub does not have a thunderbolt port but only a standard low powered USB-C port designed for external hard drives, flash drives and small peripherals.
It is USB 3.0 up to 5Gbps - 2.5W output.
Will this work with Apple's new 27" Studio Display?
Unfortunately, this product wouldn't fit the Studio Display since it's designed for the iMac Pro and iMacs (2017-2019).
Will Clamp Hub Pro work with late 2015 iMac 5K Retina Display?
No, this product is only compatible with the 2017 iMac and iMac Pros because it requires Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports to connect to the adapter. Older iMacs may or may not have a Thunderbolt 2 output which isn't the same as the latest Thunderbolt 3 port. If you happen to have an open USB-A port, a USB-C Female to USB-A Male adapter will allow you to connect the Clamp Hub Pro to a model of iMac previous to 2017. Please take a look at the photo below of to see the type of adapter we are talking abo...
Do the Micro/SD card readers support the SanDisk Extreme Pro UHS-ii card?
We can confirm that the Micro/SD card reader slots will identify UHS-ii cards but will operate at the UHS-i theoretical read and write speeds. These speeds are determined based on the class of the card itself.
Does the Type-C port on the Clamp Hub Pro support video output?
No, this is a non-Thunderbolt 3 Type-C port that was specifically designed to handle data transfer only.
